Safety, Food & General Information

What should I do in an on-site emergency?

Call 911 immediately.

Do you have a front desk?

No. The best way to reach us is by email, as we operate primarily online. We offer convenient self check-in and self check-out.

Do you have security cameras on site?

Yes. For insurance, safety, and property protection purposes, security cameras are installed in select public areas of the property. Cameras also help prevent unauthorized visitors and unregistered guests from being on the premises. Guests found damaging property, violating reservation policies, or breaking house rules may be subject to removal from the property, additional charges, or both. For privacy and security reasons, camera footage is never available to guests under any circumstances.

Is the water safe to drink?

Yes. Our tap water is safe to drink and tested monthly.

Where can I get food?
  • Dine at our on-site restaurant located conveniently up the hill from the inn.

Are you open year-round?

Yes. Quiet Bay is open all four seasons.

What are your hours of operation?
  • Email and phone messages answered 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
  • If we miss your call, we will do our best to return it by 5 PM the same day.
  • Email is recommended for quicker replies.

Reservations & Payments

How do I make a reservation?

You can book directly on our website.

What is the minimum age requirement to make a reservation?

You must be at least 19 years old to make a reservation.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards.

Cancellation Policy

What is your cancellation policy?
  • Guests may cancel free of charge until 7 days before arrival.
  • If a reservation is cancelled within 7 days of arrival, 100% of the total booking price will be charged.
  • No-shows will be charged 100% of the total booking price.
  • Date changes are not guaranteed and may be treated as a cancellation.

Check-In & Check-Out

What are your check-in and check-out times?
  • Check-in: 3:00 PM
  • Check-out: 11:00 AM
Do you offer early check-in?
  • Subject to availability and approval.
  • Approved early check-ins: $50 per hour.
Do you offer late check-out?
  • Not permitted.
  • Late departures are charged an additional night + $100 fee.
How do I check-in?

Check-in is self-serve and contactless. Instructions are sent before arrival.

Parking

Do you have complimentary parking available?
  • One space per guest in front of unit.
  • Overflow parking is available near the café up the hill.

Boating onto the Property

Can I arrive at the property on my boat?

No. Arriving by boat is not permitted due to shallow and protected waters. All guests must arrive via Hwy 124.

Can I bring my own boat or watercraft?
  • Yes, but launching must be done at approved public launch sites.
  • Our bay is not a launch area for personal watercraft.

Water Rentals (Kayaks, Canoes & SUPs)

Do you offer water rentals?
  • Yes. We offer kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards (SUPs).
  • All rentals are for use on Ahmic Lake only.
  • Rentals are available exclusively to registered guests.
What are your rental prices?
  • Kayaks: Weekdays: $35 daily | Weekends: $40 daily
  • SUPs: Weekdays: $35 daily | Weekends: $40 daily
  • Canoes: Weekdays: $50 daily | Weekends: $60 daily
What are the rental hours?
  • Weekdays:
    10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Weekends:
    10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
What is included with rentals?
  • Paddle and 1 life jacket included with all rentals.
  • No additional instruction or training is provided.
  • Guests are expected to use equipment safely and independently.
What rules apply to water rentals?
  • Guests must follow basic lake rules and all local boating regulations.
  • Children under 18 must be supervised by an adult.
  • Equipment must not be used in unsafe weather or after dark.
  • Weather and water conditions may affect availability for safety.
What happens if equipment is damaged?
  • Guests are responsible for all rented equipment.
  • Damage, loss, or neglect may result in a $700–$1000 CAD replacement fee per item.
  • Equipment must be treated with care and respect.

Amenities & Services

Are linens and towels provided?

Yes. Towels taken outside incur a $100 replacement fee.

What amenities are in the rooms?

Standard and kitchenette amenities include coffee, appliances, cookware, and lake views depending on room type.

Do you have Wi-Fi?

Yes, complimentary Wi-Fi is available.

Accessibility & Policies

Do you allow events or fireworks?

No parties or fireworks. Private events require full property booking.

Damage and housekeeping policy
  • Minimum $250 housekeeping fee may apply for excessive cleaning.
  • Additional charges may apply for damage or misuse.

Smoking

Where can I smoke?
  • Smoking is only permitted outdoors, 9 metres from buildings.
  • $250 cleaning fee applies if smoking occurs indoors.

Pets

Are you pet friendly?
  • Only in designated rooms.
  • $250 fee applies for damage or excessive cleaning.

Group Events

Can I book the whole property?

Yes, contact us for availability and group bookings.
