A History of the Property

Nestled on the serene shores of Ahmic Lake, Quiet Bay has been a place of warmth, memories, and breathtaking views for decades. Its story begins in 1995, when a lovely Swiss couple, Regula and Walter, built this Pan-Abode inn with love and care. For more than two decades, they welcomed guests with open hearts, creating a retreat where everyone felt at home. Back then, it was known as the Quiet Bay Log Motel.

In 2018, ownership passed to Dan, a Magnetawan local, and his wife Jane, who embraced the property with pride, reimagining it as Quiet Bay Inn & Café. Under their care, Quiet Bay became more than a place to stay — it became a cherished retreat, where guests returned year after year for comfort, charm, and the magic of lakeside living.

We have been fortunate to meet guests who have been coming here since the 1990s, sharing heartwarming stories of Regula and Walter, and of Jane and Dan. Their tales and memories are a reminder of just how special Quiet Bay has always been.

On January 28, 2026, we — Sommer & Andy — were honored to take the helm of this extraordinary property. With backgrounds in real estate and development, we are bringing new energy and vision to Quiet Bay, now known as Quiet Bay: Lakeside Escape. Thoughtful updates and enhancements are already underway, with many more planned.
